![]() ![]() It needs to stay on for your fonts to be active. This is a Preference Pane and it actually controls the database. Things will slow to a crawl and trying to get the fonts that are in the vault out of the database is just a nightmare.įusion and Fusion 2 also introduce what is called the Suitcase Fusion Core. Tell Suitcase to "Leave Fonts In Place" Don't use the vault. That is a legacy from when Extensis bought out Font Reserve. The first thing to watch for is that by default Fusion and Fusion 2 will want to place your fonts in the "Vault." The Font Vault is a black hole where all your fonts get stored and locked up. Fusion 1 and 2 work much differently than what you are used to. Fusion 2 can update your X1 database, but just be very careful of the settings you give it. I have over 100 documents to upgrade templates and Job Jackets which must be delivered in Quark 8.Īny links or information on this would be greatly appreciated. In an opened Quark 8 document already styled on a client's Windows system in Quark 8 and with Suitcase X open with my licensed OT fonts (same family, font house) active, I am not able to view or edit the active fonts in the font drop-down bar of the measurements and character attributes windows.Ĭan someone confirm if my findings are correct that I will need to upgrade to Extensis Fusion 2 to enable font management in Quark 8? And does this also mean an upgrade to the Operating system from 10.4.11 to 10.5 or 10.6 for the upgraded Suitcase Fusion 2? I've read conflicting data in my searching which is what lead me to the Quark Forum for help. I just successfully upgraded from Quark 6 to Quark 8 on one of my workstations a PowerPC G5 workstation running on Mac OSX 10.4.11 with Extensis Suitcase X1 font management. I'm new to the forum and this is my first DIY install after many years of benefiting from outside consulting support.
